Welcome!

Our story
BJ and I have been married for a little over 5 years. We have three children - 18,14 and 12. Two boys and 1 girl. As a stepmom it has been a privilege to be apart of their lives. And most of all it was God who put me here so only thanks to Him can be given. It hasn't been easy by any means, but it has wonderful and I am greatful. We live in Spring, TX and are now expecting number 4!

How we found out
On Monday November 16th at noon I was at work. BJ had left the Thursday before to go hunting in Kentucky. I had just eaten lunch and was sick as a dog. So sick that I was doubled over in pain and the pain was located in my upper abdomen. I was not doing well. Mrs. Carol at work said we were headed to the emergency room. I didn't argue with her! I was sick. I am like every other woman out there, I dont do doctors, and only go if I absolutely have too! Therefore going to the ER was a big deal for me! After getting to the ER I underwent a ton of test. Of course as a female they give you a pregnancy test.

If you know anything about us, we tried the first 2+ years we were married. After trying and not succeeding we stopped, and decided maybe it was just not for us. Our big joke lately has been "baby or beamer" and praying for God to give us an answer. I was pretty sure that I knew that answer, boy was I wrong!

The ER doctor came back in and said I have some news for you - you are pregnant. I think it was a deer in the headlight look! WHAT? Me? Ummmmm.... Then came the series of questions. As I am sitting there in the middle of a bed and thinking...how do I tell BJ? Text messages were the only thing that was really working. BJ would have to walk up a mountain to talk to me. I text him "Call me now!!" (A funny my dad found out he was having twins while hunting!) BJ called and I told him I was pregnant...his response "Are you serious?" Yes dear...we are pregnant.

Still in shock, I took some tylenol and the pain started to subside. They think I just had a pulled abdominal muscle. Thank God for all the family that helped that evening with our kids, because I wasn't able to leave the ER till late that evening. My mom and dad picked me up and I stayed at a hotel with them that night.

The next day I was able to make an appointment with my OBGYN and get some real answers. I saw him the following week. My ultra sound was done Monday and I got to hear the heart beat...what a cool experience. Tuesday I met with my Dr. and got an expectant due date - July 4th, 2010.

So my Nana Buford is expecting Great Grand Baby #10, my parents are expecting grand baby number #5, BJ's parents are expecting grand baby number #6 and Mawmaw and Pawpaw are expecting great grand baby #8 (Adam and Kristy are due in April!). It is an exciting time and I hope you will stay along for the ride.

What has happened so far?
I didn't/don't have any morning sickness (knocking on wood! I know how lucky I am). I really didn't know I was pregnant till they told me! I haven't had any food aversions or even strange cravings. I am still in a bit of shock about being pregnant. Am I really? Are you sure? Me? I am thrilled and most of all thankful that God has trusted BJ and I with one of His precious children, again. Therefore, if you are really good at Math then you have figured out that I am 11+ weeks along and ready to share with all of you.

I am going to try and blog once a week...but please dont kill me if I dont! I will try!
