Family...

Mommy and Daddy have been really excited the last couple of nights. I have been sleeping 8 hours at night! I know I am only 4 weeks old and I am really spoiling them. I eat around 10pm and then daddy gets me ready for bed and I dont get up till around 7am. Mommy was really excited the first night. The second night was even more exciting. Hopefully I will keep this up. We shall see.
Daddy gets home and I get to sit in his lap...my favorite place in the evenings.

Spiderman!

I got to snuggle up with Pawpaw today while mommy and mawmaw worked on the computer. I think I like this place better than on the couch by myself!

Nanna B. came and saw me this week. She stopped by on Tuesday before going to see Colby. Yes, she has two - Kolby and Colby! I am really good at sleeping.

Wide awake, before I snuggle in the right place and go to sleep!

Hi Nanna!

Nanna B. holding her great-grandson!

This is what happens when Uncle BJ gives his nephew a blue sucker...his daddy was soooo excited.

Uncle Wade at his birthday lunch...

Uncle Todd and Aunt Sarah came in last weekend to visit me. Little did they know that I would be such a handful!

I am sooo cute :)

I am good when I am a sleep

Aunt Sarah and I.

Look I can smile for the camera!

I was not happy. Didn't want to take any pictures. Little did I know that I would be taking TONS this weekend.

Oh much happier little man.

Nope, I dont want that! I am wet!

Getting it started...I am wet...I hate being wet.

This is me before I am wet.

Professional Pictures

I am only going to post a couple of my favorites from Kolby's professional Newborn pictures. Julie Stratton with JStratton Photography came to our home and took some WONDERFUL pictures of our little man. I can't thank her enough, because Kolby was not very cooperative at all. In fact he was a little toot! She was able to capture some very beautiful moments and expressions. Here is her website if you have a chance to go check her out - www.jstrattonphoto.com

Hopefully you enjoyed these beautiful photos! Thanks Julie for the pictures and your time! I greatly appreciate it.

Another update...

Another update for all of you. I know I know I should be WAY better at this! Maybe I can make a time to nap and a time to update daily? Naps are first though, so if I dont get to the update OH WELL :) You all understand!

Mr. K all snug and out. He does sleep pretty well. Just has to be really cool! Needs a ceiling fan and dad's little fan. Also he likes it when dad is home and he is now sleeping in his pack in play. We have to have the extra air!

Big brother J hanging out with the little man.

Aunt Kiki got a chance to stop by. She is headed to Germany in about 10 days! Thanks Aunt Kiki for taking pictures of me when I was born. Glad you got to stop by and see me before you head off on your next big adventure!

Available for a playdate! Any takers?

Not so adorable when screaming at the top of his lungs. He does not like for his diaper to be wet AT ALL. He lets you know pretty quick and you need to be able to change it quickly!

His first sponge bath. We are still sponge bathing him because his cord has not fallen off yet. Maybe next week we will be able to give him his first real bath. Pictures to come of that!
That is all for the update this time. Have a good day!

A weekly update...

If you didn't know my mom has been staying with me while B and J went to North Carolina for the World Karate Tournament. I was really bummed that I didn't get to go, but hauling a week old baby all the way across the country wasn't really something I could do. And after some days this week I am glad I didn't. Though I really wanted to be
there for J at his first world tournament!

J competed in Demo Team, Forms, Sparring, and weapons. The Demo Team (think cheerleading competition just karate instead of cheers!) did really well taking home 4th place! They have all worked really hard these last couple of months to prepare and we are all really proud of them. J also took 3rd in Sparring - which is awesome! Especially at a World competition. I am so very proud of him. They are currently home arriving late Sunday evening.

My mom headed home on Monday. I am so thankful that she was able to come and stay with me and Kolby. It was great to spend some time with her, and have her expertise. Our little man is doing well and Meme was a huge help. Thanks Meme for being here, and being a support to me. LOVE YOU!

Kolby and Pops. Pops came into town, and helped us get in trouble! (Not that we couldn't do it on our own very well). Pops hung Kolby's fan in his bedroom and then also put one up in our bathroom. Daddy was excited for both!

Kolby - this baby stuff is hard!

This is Pawpaw Dietrich! He got to come visit us.

Mawmaw and Kolby. All snuggled up. She was worried about his feet being to cold!

Kolby's fingers and mine! We were trying to show everyone how long his fingers are. Hopefully you can see!

Some of Kolby's favorite ladies. Miss S, Meme and Miss R.

Pawpaw Petty getting to hold me!
On Tuesday we went to the doctor for the two week check up. Everything is fine :) He has currently regained ALL of his birth weight (he weighed 7lbs 9oz at birth and 7lbs 4oz when we left the hospital) and then on top of all of that, he gained a pound! So now he is at 8lbs 9oz. Then on top of all of that, he has also gained an inch! So now he is 21 3/4" long! Just growing. He is sleeping pretty good through the night. We are getting about 3.5 hours of sleep at a time during the night. He is eating well (as you can see from his stats above!) and overall a great baby.
Thanks everyone for your love and support. I will get some more updates as soon as possible. Love you all!

Name this baby...

Who is this??

Meme and I were sitting around today and talking about who Kolby really looked like. He has changed so much just in the first week and finally filling out his face. In doing so he looks more and more like someone else! ME! The picture above is of me when I was little. I was a little heavier and a lot shorter than my little man. But looking at all the pictures, we look more and more alike each day.
We went to the doctor today just to do a follow up. He is back up to 7lbs 8oz and already grown a 1/4 of an inch! Kolby is peeing all over everyone! We have tried all kinds of things. Bigger diapers, tucking and other things :) But I have gotten Meme, Daddy, Mommy and Dad's bed, and the Nanna! (She stopped by today to with Pawpaw to see me.) Which means I have been through my standard 6 outfits today...Now I am snuggled up against daddy waiting for dinner!

How many outfits?

Yes that should be the question! How many outfits can one little guy go through in one day (dont forget Meme's outfits as well!)?? I didn't get them all but here...

Ok the first outfit was my sleeper...mommy missed it...but now I have my Allstar outfit on.
I didn't make it long and had this cute little jumper on...

Then I had THREE more outifts throughout the day! YES THREE! And I made Meme change twice.
Sorry Meme!

Then it was time for bed again...and I got another jumper. Dont worry I messed this one up this morning and mommy had to put me in ANOTHER outfit...lets see how far I get today.

I have a doctor's appointment this morning. Will let you know what she says and how much weight I have gained. I have another surprise for all of you later today as well...check back and mommy should have it posted. Love ya!

A sleeping baby...I slept 4 hours and then another 4 just for mommy and daddy.

Kolby's Birthstory and pictures!

These pictures are in backwards order...sorry! It is blogspot...not my fault. But I will blog under each picture for you. And at the end I will put the birth story, and how it all happened!

I am hanging out with Meme. In one of my outfits from my cousin Brayden! Mommy folded for two days and that was just the newborn and 3 month clothes! WOW. The dresser is full with all the clothes, and I am going through them. Did you check out all my hair?

Me and Meme. Hanging out at my house. It is 8:45am and I am wide awake! But I did sleep last night for my mommy.

Mommy and I hanging out in the living room. Well I am sleeping and mommy is having lunch.

This is my friend Harley and her mommy Lacy. They stopped by to see me!

Harley and her mommy Lacy. Harley's daddy works with my mommy.

Daddy and Mommy getting me ready to go home! It was an exciting Monday :)

Thanks Aunt Jenn for the bouncer seat, I am already learning to sleep anywhere!

Daddy brought me in and let Bo meet me. Not sure if he likes me yet. He is continuing to give mommy the side eye. I haven't had a chance to grab a hold of his ears yet, but give me time!

These are the roses that daddy had delivered on Saturday when I came to this world for mommy. They showed up at 11:30 and I was born at 11:09 what great timing!
Thank you BJ for the beautiful flowers.

This is my cousin Ramsey. He was really mad at his daddy for not bringing him to the hospital to see me. But he got to come over on Monday when I got home to hold me. He was so excited!

Ramsey getting ready to hold me. He couldn't wait and was showing everyone how he was going to rock me.

Nanna didn't get to hold me at the hospital because she was sick. She didn't want to get me or mommy sick. But she was feeling much better on Monday and finally got to hold her newest grandson! As you can see she is giddy.

Uncle Wade just cant get over me. He thinks I am cute and too alert! :) Thank you for the ballons Uncle Wade and Aunt Renea.

Here is part of the Soto family! They came up to visit me on Saturday evening to check me out. Thanks for stopping by everyone.

Aunt Sarah and I. Aunt Jennifer is snapping all the pictures! I had tons taken the first day I was here. Thanks for taking all my pictures Aunt Sarah and Aunt Jennifer!

This is the door mum that Aunt Sarah made me. If you look real close there is an Aggie ribbon that says class of 2032! WHOOP! I will be there in no time...17 years 362 days.

My foot! It is very long. Going to have to grow into these!

Daddy, Aunt Renea and Uncle Wade the day I was born. Thanks for being there with us.

Me! Not being happy.
Birth story:
I went to the doctor on Friday the 2nd. I was only a 2 and the doctor said he would see me Tuesday. I really took it to heart that I was going to have an induction and just settled with that. My husband took me to have my toes done, dinner and a movie Friday night. We were going to get up Saturday and finish everything up with the house and baby. At 12:30 I woke up with some cramping. Nothing big, took a couple of tylenol and went back to bed. Up again at 2 with some more. But nothing I couldn't handle. Back to bed. At 3 I was up again. I thought maybe these where Braxton Hicks that everyone said I would have. I started tracking them but they were about 15 to 20 minutes apart. I sat on the edge of my bed with three pillows on my side and would lean over and sleep between the contractions. When I had a contraction I would have to get up and either walk or go to the bathroom. I would then wait it out. I walked my entire house that evening. At 5 I woke my husband up because I could no longer handle the pain. We were heading to the hospital.
We got there finally around 6:20. I did not want to get to the hospital and get sent home. I wanted to be to this point. We went to triage and I changed into a gown. I had to talk myself into that bed to get checked. I did not want to lie down on my back at all - but I kept saying "If I dont get checked they can't give me meds, and if they can't give me meds and I am too far along, I have to do this in this pain." Needless to say I got in that bed. The nurse checked me and I was a 5. I got to stay! I was so excited!

They got me a room and the nurse came in to start my IV. She blew the first one (lots of pain later on) and finally got the second one started. They gave me some drugs through that till the anestesiologist could get there. He showed around 7:15ish. He was heaven in blue. I was completely relaxed after he finished and felt great. The doctor came in and broke my water and checked me again around 8:30ish. I was a good 8. He took a bet and said we would have a baby around 12. At 10:30 the nurse came in and checked me and she said it was time. I started pushing around 10:40 and we had the little man at 11:09.
They went to put him on my belly after they cut the cord and he wouldn't take that first big breath and cry. It was a little quite in the room at first. They wisked him to the warmer and the nurses and pedi started suctioning him and getting him to cry. It took what felt like FOREVER to hear that first cry. I was a little teary eyed. I did tear and had to have a couple of stitches, but nothing to bad.

I was up walking that afternoon (which felt great to do). We had TONS of visitors that first day since he came so fast and early. My family wasn't able to be there during the birth, but arrived shortly there after. I was thankful that a friend could come and take pictures for us, during the birth. She did wonderfully! Aunt Kiki (as seen below) is responsible for all the first pictures!

We have a wonderful baby boy that is doing amazingly well. He is already sleeping really well, and I have been able to rest. Which is a blessing! He has the longest fingers and toes I have ever seen. Meme is here with us till after next week and we are thankful for her! She is letting me get a good nap in during the day, which is a great thing! I am rested and feel great. We have already been out and done a couple of trips. I go to the doctor on Friday to just check me out. I will let you all know how that goes!
Sorry the story is in backwards order or all mixed up. Kolby is here and doing wonderfully. He is already changing just in this first week! Can't believe it.
