Wednesday Update, late

Sorry I didn't get this posted sooner. Been battling headaches the last couple of days. Not sure the true cause, but they are kicking my butt. Even sleep doesnt seem to knock them out. Going to talk to the doctor on Monday.

Anyways, went to the doctor Wednesday to have the ultra sound done to measure Mr. K. He is measuring good! Right at 7 pounds and 9 ounces! One big boy already. B said he was going to just walk out! Right now I feel like that...lol. He is head down and moving to position. Still got his feet up in my rib cage. Pretty sure all 10 toes are wrapped around my last rib on each side as he holds on for dear life. He thinks he is pretty comfortable, and I am just ready for him to be on the outside so that more people get to "handle" him than just me! ;) Here are a couple of pictures.

This is a picture of his hand. He would not coperate at all!

Here is a picture of his face. He has one of his arms over his face with his hand on his nose. He would not move out of this position no matter how much proding, pushing we did. Guess we all have to wait to see him when he gets here!
Last but not least B and I. Mr. and Mrs. H (seen previously in another post) invited us to the Astros game Wednesday night (one they actually won!). I got online found where our seats where and B got me within two blocks of the stadium and our seats where right at the door we went in! I didn't have to go far, which was great. It was nice to get out and hang out with my husband and friends. Got to sit and talk with Mrs. H about her 2.5 year old (who could pass for 5!). They even found me a funnel cake...yummmmm!
Till Monday.

Monday Update

It is Monday, and time for the weekly update. I need to really figure out a format on how to give these updates...ummm

Me and Kolby: I dont have a doctor's appointment till Wednesday this week. I am having my last ultrasound and then get to see the nurse. Dr. G is out of town till next Monday so I am trying to hold off till then. I would prefer for him to deliver this little boy. I am feeling good. I get tired easily but have been in go go mode for to long that only when I am completely exhausted that I slow down. I am still working and unless he comes early going to work till the 6th of July. My boss (who lives right around the corner from me) let me use his pool yesterday. The weightlessness was AMAZING! I didn't spend a ton of time in there maybe 45 minutes, but OH MY! It was WELL worth it. Here I am at 38 weeks (I will spare you the bathing suit shot). Looking a little tired I think, but overall, feeling pretty good.
Nursery: I am working on it! :P There is more done than what is pictured below here. We do have the crib bed made and actually sitting in a different corner right now. We are hunting for a part for the fan that needs to be hung up. BJ has been to a bunch of stores and just can't find what he needs. Hopefully later today we might be able to find it! We shall see. If not, oh well. There is a bassinet and a pack n play for him to sleep in for a little bit. I am not worried one bit.

What we did this weekend: Thanks to all of our friends and family for all the generous gifts. I sat and went through EVERYTHING. Clothes, bags, and boxes. I am *almost* done. Got a couple of them left in the study to get through (you currently cannot sit in my living room because every seat has something in it related to baby). I dont have much left. I was able to start washing clothes yesterday and should have most of that done tonight. Then I will work on putting everything away. Hopefully I have enough room for it all!
B's Projects for Father's Day weekend: He put the stroller together and got the vehicles ready for Kolby. Above is the stroller (thanks to Mr. and Mrs. S!) It actually went together very easy. I was shocked. And now sits ready to go.
Last but not least my Father's Day gift for my husband. His favorite pie. Aunt Leigh's Coconut pie. We took it BJ's parents yesterday for a great lunch with the family.
I will post another update later this week after the doctor. So till then, have a great week!!
Love ya,
Tricia

37 Week Update

Went to the doctor yesterday. Measuring good. Baby is still really high. Mom said he was hanging on with both feet and hands to my rib cage. I wouldn't be surprised at all. We have to be good for the next two weeks because my doctor is going on vacation and I would prefer to be delivered by him. But if Mr. Kolby wants to come then so be it. I have no arguments. I started getting checked and there is no change...nothing happening down there. So we wait.

B, T and I went and did the tour of the hospital yesterday as well. It was very interesting and I am excited about where we will be. I feel comfortable and ready to do this. The information provided was helpful and put some questions at ease.

Need to take a picture of myself...will do that tonight for all of you. Still working on the nursery trying to finish that up. B asked if I had a bag packed for him - I informed him that not only did I not, but I hadn't even packed my own bag! LOL. Another item on the to do list. Till next week.

The NAME and Update

Yes, it has been announced we have decided on the name and are telling everyone. It is:

Kolby Ray Petty

We have had a ton of questions about it - so let me give you the load down.
Kolby - is just a name we picked. We had a running list from about March of names we liked. I used a book, websites and even the flyers from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo that had rodeo participant events to pick all these names. At least once a week we would go through the names and mark off ones we didn't like, star those that still stuck and eventually we got it down to Kolby. We struggled with a "C" or a "K" but I really wanted it to be unique. And if you know the big joke around us lately with "C.R.A.P." Then you understand that we could not by any means have a "C", so here we are with a "K" and Kolby is it.

Ray- I didn't know at the time that I fell in love with this name, that there was WAY more to the story about how the middle name came about but I do now (and will have to write it all down for the baby book). BJ's grandmother - Mammaw, Mrs. Hazel Ray Moore went home in August of last year. When doing her program for the funeral I fell in love with her middle name. BJ and I were still debating if we were even going to have children (as I have always said God had different plans for us, because we were really leaning the other way!) I told him that I wanted to use it. So it has been the plan from day one - something Ray Petty. I always told you all I had 2/3 of the name done! Nanna Mae was telling me Saturday about Mammaw's middle name, and I caught most of it, but I will have to get to her house and write it all down for the book and will blog about it for all of you.

Petty - well duh! This is a no brainer.

Update on me:

Went to the doctor this morning (starting my weekly visits) and everything is going well. I am waking up with headaches in the morning, but for the most part I am doing well (blood pressure is normal, measuring good, etc). I am getting up to pee every 2.5 to 3 hours but as I have been told this is God's way of getting me on that schedule! Baby is measuring on target for a July 4th due date. Dr. G is not going to let me go to far past my due date (thank goodness!). This last week was the first week I have been "done" with being pregnant. I have been really blessed in that I haven't had many of the crazy pregnancy issues that many women experience, but not knowing I was pregnant the first 2 months and then the last 6 months have been a breeze to this week, I am done. My husband can issue the eviction notice to Kolby and get him moving on out. He is still pretty high, but head down (always has been). He is kicking up a storm and rolling around in there (now that there isn't much room!). Other than that, I am good staying healthy, keeping my weight in check and getting ready.

We are in the process of getting the room finalized. Got a bunch to do there, but shouldn't take to long. Ready to get all the baby stuff contained to one area for now. Right now it is in about four rooms and my nesting syndrome does not help when mixed with OCD. Remembering I have to wait and take my time is hard. But BJ is keeping me in check and helping a ton. Thank you to all the family and friends calling and checking on all of us. We are blessed beyond belief to have such wonderful friends and family. Love you all!!!

Till next week!

Dietrich Family Baby Shower! WHOOP!

May 22nd we had a wonderful time at Kelley's. Never been there? OH MY! You are missing out on some Texas cooking. One plate would feed about 4 people, and I am not kidding. My two wonderful sisters threw me a shower there and invited even more friends and family. Thank you all that attended. This baby has more family than he knows! To those that weren't able to make it, I completely understand and appreciate your cards in the mail that I have been getting.

Aunt Sarah and Aunt Jennifer really out did themselves! The back banquet room was decorated in all different cowboy themes. Blue, red and white bandannas (is that how you spell that???), little cowboy boots to hold pictures, and a HUGE diaper cake that even had blue jean diapers (WAY TO CUTE!). It was a blessing to have such close family come all the way for us. I am thankful for each and every one of you. And blessed beyond belief to have family like I do.
Here are some pictures!

The hostesses! Aunt Jennifer, me and Aunt Sarah.
(Thanks for buying me a new dress as well!!)

Meme and Me! She is way to excited!

Yes, he will be Fightin Texas Aggie Class of '32!
AGGHHH that is a LONG time away!

Aunt Renee and I (thank you for making the wonderful cake!)

The amazing diaper cake. See the blue layer? Those are the little blue jean diapers! Sarah rolled each ones of those, and in less than an hour I took all the rubber bands off and re-boxed them! Shhh dont tell her, because I hear she spent HOURS rolling diapers!
Another cute story about this shower - Aunt Carol made me a blanket that had a cowboy theme. It matches our nursery decor! Sarah had a friend make some blocks (see them on the left of the picture above), they match the blanket Aunt Carol made! Same fabric and all! They are so cute!
We also got time to play to Brayden as he came to town with Aunt Jennifer. He has grown SOOO much! And is already 1! Can you believe that? I cannot. Time goes by so fast. Will post more pictures as we get them in.
Thank you again to Aunt Sarah and Aunt Jennifer it was very generous of you both. Thank you to all my family and friends that made it to the shower, I am truly blessed to have a family like I do. Can't wait for you all to meet this little boy. Just a couple more weeks of baking and he can come on out!
Love you all.
