Getting Ready to Register

I printed off the list of items a couple of locations said you "must" register for. How do they come up with this? Maybe the Celebs are registering for some of these items but me? Us? Not happening. I am a very practical person these days, if we can't use it for more than 6 months to a year, then I am not sure we *really* need it. If you know what I mean! But I am looking and getting ready. Here are some things I found:

A Travel System. We actually looked at these when BJ took me to Babies R Us over a month ago. I always laughed at dads that were way to tall and pushing a stroller that was too short. It is a big deal for me to have the handle move, or adjust to fit BJ appropriately, so he doesn't look like a little old lady trying to push the stroller. This system, actually has that. Which is one reason I like it. I also like that it is a jogging type stroller. I am hoping to get back into training for a 5K with "J" once released to do so. We had started in Sept/Oct and I just was to exhausted to keep up (wonder why!). We will do one together and this stroller will allow me to get out and keep up with him!

Car Seats. Definitely want something that will grow with this baby till we are at least 3. I want a convertible car seat that will transition from a rear facing (till around age 2) to a forward facing seat. This one also reclines and has cup holders. Which I have learned with Rylee and Sophia is a must have! When we go register we will look at something like this. Not sure the exact colors and so forth, but something similar. My SIL & BIL got their little one, this exact brand over 4 years ago, and he still hasn't out grown them! Now that is practical! :)

Pack N Play. We have a two story house and therefore this little one will be down stairs a bunch. Short of putting the crib in the study one of these is going to be a must. Exactly which one, or all the features that we will need who knows! Simple works best for me!

My friend Tarrah sold me a bunch of stuff from when her son out grew everything, so we have alot of items. Also my boss' wife gave me and my sister a TON of things when they were cleaning out their house from grandbabies. So what we need and what we have is going to be the trick to figuring out. Guess I need to get my list together and have a plan. We just have to make it thru Rodeo! Then we will start the rest of our planning.

I am really starting to show these days. I had to purchase some maternity tops that were a little longer to cover up my band around my waist. I think I will be able to make it another couple of weeks with all the clothes I have before having to purchase pants, skirts and/or dresses.

Wednesday is the BIG day. Looks like everyone is going to be going with us! We will find out around 3:30ish and then have to meet with the doctor. Not sure if we are going to go do the hospital stuff this time, or if I will do it next month (knowing me and BJ, probably next month!). I will make sure to post what it is, as soon as possible!

Rabbits...Bedding & Cribs

Well I know that my dad, mom and sisters will get a real kick out of this. BJ and I were up and out of the house early this morning for the HLSR Meat Pen Tattooing at The Farm and Ranch Club. We use to all get up and go do this when we were in high school. This picture only shows a small portion of what we would haul in. Between just us three girls we would bring in about 10 cages of bunnies! I think one year we must have had 200+ easily. And then when we started working with the Heaton's I think we would have more than that. Oh the days of fun we had! Do you know how hard it is to load that many rabbits into a trailer (because we travelled in style!)) strap them all down, unload them to take them into this little room, get them all tattooed - make sure they ALL got this cute little stamp in their ear - and then get them home. Just makes me tired thinking about it. WOW!

An update on me! ---

I am feeling really good. I am growing and finally starting to really show. Today we hit the halfway point in this pregnancy (a huge milestone they say) and now should be on the other side of all of this. Still got a week and half to the big ultra sound but counting the days! Anyone want to take a guess at what we are having? At our house everyone has their input.

Some of you have asked what we are looking at for baby stuff, so I thought I would show you a little bit. BJ and I decided that we would go with a Western theme. So I started looking for bedding. This is what we have come up with so far:

We have been baby shopping as well. BJ took my to Babies R Us a couple of weeks ago to get a band to hold my britches up. (My pants were getting a little snug so I needed something to help me out!) While we were there we took a few moments to look at furniture, strollers, car seats, and many other things. We didn't spend to long on it all, just a quick run thru. We have looked a couple of cribs. BJ really prefers the traditional oak looking wood. I also like the convertible cribs, so we have something that this little one can grow into for a couple of years. Here are two examples of what we have in mind:

Not sure which one we are going with just yet. Still looking for the perfect fit for us. But this gives you an idea! And also shows we haven't just not looked! Nothing will be done till after rodeo, because there is so much going on right now. That will be done at the end of March.
Well I think that gives you enough to tie you over till next week! Hope you are all doing great. Talk to you soon.
Love ya,

18 Weeks, the other kids and Aunt Kiki!

Well we are 18 weeks and a couple of days today. Food has become really bland to me. In fact it doesn't sound good at all, most of the time. I did make a homemade Chicken Pot Pie last night for the family. I doubled and halfed it (2.5x) and only 1/2 of it is left - if that. I even ate some. It was pretty good, and I made it a little spicy. But still didn't care for it. It didn't taste good for me (but obviously it was good for everyone else!). We are having meatloaf tonight. J's favorite. I will make a 4lb meatloaf and it will be 1/2 to 3/4 gone tonight as well.

Dad is currently living with us as well since mom has been in the hospital. She is doing a little better, but now she is fighting a fever. Just need to get her out and home for a little bit. That way she can really heal!

I haven't introduced everyone to our other kiddos. So I will try and start to do that today! J is 14 and a freshman in high school! Can you believe that? He is in Karate and loving it. He should be a black belt by the end of this year! We are very proud of him and excited to see his progress. We were actually planning a big family trip for July 14-18 of this year because he has to go to a World's Karate Tournament. We know that him and BJ are going for sure, who else is still a mystery!

Then we have T! She is 12 and a 7th grader. She is really excited about the baby. In fact she was gone for a week after Christmas, came back and hurried in the door to see my belly. Little did she know that this was going to take some time. It has been exciting watching them enjoy this.
You already met Bo below. We also have another J, who is in college. We dont get to see him as much. But at Christmas he was doing really well.

J and T are going with BJ and I to the BIG Ultrasound at the end of the month. If you are keeping count that is in 23 days! I know you are all chomping at the bit to find out what it is. But we got some time. We are still taking bets on what it is!

I also want to introduce you to Aunt Kiki (as her beloved nephew calls her)! Kristin and I have been friends FOREVER. And I am really excited for her, as she is engaged!!! I am sad that she is moving to Germany this summer, but excited that I get to go visit - hopefully! BJ and I were able to get together with her and do dinner last weekend, and it was a such a treat! We even stopped for a photo op -

Well that is an update on our family and friends.
Love ya!
